The White River flows through our Seven Cedars Homestead and the lowland woods is prime habitat for spicebush as well as witch hazel and autumn olive.

This fritillary butterfly is perched on the butterfly bush in our backyard garden. Fritillaries also like black-eyed-susans and daises as adults, while the larvae feed on violets, which are abundant under the cedar trees here. I am not sure of the species. Let us know if you have any ideas.
